In the 1980s and 1990s, it was called “stress management.” Now, in the 21st century, we call it “life balance.” We seem to be striving to play more and work less – to not be so intense, or better yet, be more relaxed during our every day living; have more peace and calmness in each day.
Our current way of living is causing major issues, such as health challenges or the need to force ourselves to relax. Millions
can be seen rushing to get to a yoga class only to finally breathe. It is also costing us millions of dollars at the office because we are in constant multi-tasking mode; and it is costing us relationships. How does one go about accomplishing this tremendous task of creating more balance in life?
Have a vision.
Life balance starts with having a vision for your life and business. Without a vision, we tend to get on the hamster wheel of life and keep it spinning as if our mission each day was to accomplish as much as possible. As business owners, we are in charge of how our days look and feel.
In 10 years, do you want to look back and say that you were burnt out the entire time trying to create your success? Or do you want to look back and say you enjoyed the process of success? I actually believe that success comes from slowing down! It comes from being more single-minded and doing less multi-tasking!
Of course, there are four more tips to go with this first one, but that would take up too much space.
